09- Final thoughts, testing & reflections

During the collaborative effort to bring our entire project to life, our initial testing phase involved the use of a low-fidelity prototype. This crucial step uncovered issues related to the box's shape, prompting a shift from a circular to a hexagonal design. The unconventional hexagonal shape aligned with the unique nature of the compass, deviating from traditional circular functionality. The decision was reinforced by the realization that the original shape felt clunky, a sentiment echoed in the feedback received during tutorials.

Wood emerged as the material of choice for our high-fidelity prototype, selected for its timeless and durable qualities. The extensive testing of this refined prototype proved successful, with the user journey seamlessly guiding users towards the sticker in Dalston, the focal point of our first soundscape.

I also tested in my accomodation reception area which is where I was able to evaluate how visible and how accessible the overall product was to new residents. I found that the set worked really well together and was happy with the final result.

The collaborative process with Harry throughout the development of my Final Major Project (FMP) was marked by remarkable seamlessness. This can be attributed to our meticulous planning of each subsequent step and the strong foundation of friendship and shared communication preferences. Despite possessing distinct skill sets, we harnessed our individual strengths to the fullest, resulting in a project of which I am immensely proud.

Our work dynamic was remarkably fluid, a testament to our effective planning and cohesive communication. Unlike some other groups grappling with interpersonal and organizational challenges, our collaborative process was the epitome of seamless collaboration. This experience reaffirms the significance of working with team members whose skills complement one another. Our harmonious collaboration not only facilitated a successful project but also underscored the value of synergy in achieving shared goals.
