We're now on week 4 of our exciting venture to build furniture using natural materials. In this update, we'll share our progress and some challenges we faced along the way.

Collecting Natural Materials
As part of our project, we decided to venture out into nature to collect materials for our furniture. We gathered branches, moss, leaves, and even insects to incorporate into our designs. It was a thrilling experience to be in nature and find unique pieces that would add a natural touch to our furniture.

While we were successful in collecting natural materials, we faced some challenges when it came to finding props to make our exhibition room truly immersive. However, we were fortunate to be given access to old props from the film department that we could use to enhance our space. This allowed us to add an extra layer of creativity and uniqueness to our project.

Furniture Making
We utilized a variety of creative techniques to construct our furniture pieces. For the chair, we used papier-mache, old wire, glue, and branches, and covered it with paint to create a natural and visually appealing piece. The 3D workshop came in handy for laser cutting our "creepy crawley" table.
Additionally, we incorporated an old rug, generously provided by one of our teammates, and added moss to it to create a textured and visually intriguing element.
Digital Elements for Immersive Experience
As part of our project, I was tasked with overseeing all the interactive and digital elements of the exhibition room. To enhance the immersion of our users, I delved into the world of 3D modeling and virtual reality to explore the possibilities within our tight timeline. With only one week left, it was crucial to assess my digital skills and find the best tool to create a realistic and enjoyable experience for our users. After careful research, I found that Spark AR was the ideal tool for the job.
Creating a Filter for Visitor Enjoyment
To add an interactive and immersive element to our exhibition room, I decided to create a filter using Spark AR that our visitors could enjoy. It was the easiest and most entertaining way to enhance their experience and allow them to interact with our concept. However, I encountered some minor technical difficulties with exporting the files due to their large size. Fortunately, this was easily resolved, and I was able to proceed with creating a filter that would add an exciting and engaging touch to our exhibition room.
Collective Effort in Building the Exhibition Room
While I was working on the digital elements, the rest of the team was actively engaged in building the exhibition room. It required a lot of effort and collaboration to bring our vision to life. Each team member contributed their skills and creativity to construct the immersive space that would showcase our nature-inspired furniture and digital elements in the best possible way.
Conclusion
Week 4 of our project was filled with exciting challenges and creative solutions. We ventured into nature to collect materials for our furniture, overcame challenges with props, utilized creative techniques in furniture making, and explored digital elements to enhance the immersion of our users. With Spark AR, we were able to create a filter that our visitors would enjoy, adding an interactive element to our exhibition room. We are thrilled with our progress and can't wait to share the final outcome of our project in our next update. Stay tuned for more!
