As we entered the last week of our Office Mix project, our team was filled with a mix of excitement and anticipation. This blog post aims to capture the highlights of our final week, from fine-tuning the 3D dial to overcoming challenges during the presentation preparation. Additionally, I will share my personal reflections on the overall experience and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

Perfecting the 3D Dial and Typeface:

One of our main focuses during the final week was to add the finishing touches to the 3D dial. We carefully examined every detail, ensuring that the typeface imprinted on each mode accurately represented its purpose and evoked the desired emotions. By refining the design elements of the dial, we aimed to create an intuitive and visually appealing tool that would seamlessly integrate into the office environment.

Practicing the Presentation and Creating the Advert:

To ensure a smooth and impactful presentation, our team dedicated time to rehearsing the script and fine-tuning our delivery. As part of the creative process, I had the opportunity to lend my voiceover skills to our advert, which added a personal touch and enhanced the overall impact of our message. Through these preparations, we aimed to effectively convey the value and functionality of Office Mix to our audience.

Navigating Challenges in Collaboration:

Collaboration can sometimes present challenges, and during the final week, I encountered a situation where a team member was overly involved in micromanaging the design of our presentation slides. Recognizing the importance of maintaining a healthy and efficient workflow, I proactively addressed the issue by removing them from the shared document. This allowed me to regain creative autonomy and ensure a smoother workflow for the team as a whole.

Reflecting on the Journey:

Looking back at the seven weeks of our project, I am amazed at the progress we made and the obstacles we overcame. Initially, the project seemed daunting, but as we delved deeper into the research and design process, it became an incredibly instructive and rewarding experience. The project taught me the importance of adaptability, collaboration, and perseverance in the face of challenges. It also highlighted the significance of open communication, the ability to navigate particularly difficult interpersonal dynamics within a team and clashing expectations.

Feedback :

During the final presentation, the feedback we received from our partners was overwhelmingly positive. They were impressed by the professionalism of our presentation, the variety of materials we presented, and the range of prototypes we developed. Moreover, we were thrilled to be ahead of schedule, ensuring that we had ample time to refine our deliverables and present a polished final product. The positive feedback and recognition of our efforts validated the hard work and dedication we put into the project. The one thing that was pointed out however was our absence of research upon pitching our product. This was a collective decision based on the impression that talking about how Office-mix is based on extensive weeks of research would take up too much time.

Conclusion:

The final week of the Office Mix project was a culmination of our team's efforts and showcased the progress we made in bringing our vision to life. Through meticulous attention to detail, collaborative rehearsals, and addressing challenges head-on, we achieved a sense of accomplishment and delivered a compelling presentation. This project not only enhanced our design skills but also taught us invaluable lessons in teamwork, resilience, and effective communication. As we conclude our journey with Office Mix, we carry these lessons forward, ready to embrace future challenges with confidence and enthusiasm.
